It's more than business - it's personal experience!

Since June of 2000 Matt has obtained many just and fair settlements for families and individuals who have been killed or injured while working, or traveling on, Indiana and Ohio roadways.

In Matt's mind there is no such thing as a typical, garden variety, legal situation. Each case is very personal and, often times, deals with sensitive issues.

He treats all clients with respect and will listen to you. Most cases settle before a trial becomes necessary. Matt has successfully used mediation to settle many cases for injured people. However, if your case can only be resolved by going to trial, Matt will fight for you!

Matt knows what goes on in a living room after tragedy strikes.

In November 2010, Matt’s brother was struck and killed by a drunk driver while riding his bicycle in Phoenix, Arizona. Matt shouldered the responsibility of dealing with the funeral and financial arrangements in addition to taking care of his brother's affairs. Matt dealt with the prosecutor and the victim's advocate in the criminal case and is now assisting his elderly mother in coping with the out-of-state wrongful death case.

Law school wasn't the end!

Matt is dedicated to providing you with the best representation possible. Matt believes that further education is not only necessary, it is imperative to providing the quality of service that he desires to give. Matt is a 2007 graduate of Gerry Spence's Trial Lawyers College in Dubois, Wyoming. Matt continues to attend Trial Lawyers College programs on an annual basis.

In addition to working on interpersonal trial skills, Matt has also attended numerous technical skills classes with the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA). In 2004 and 2005, Matt achieved not only the NITA Advocate Designation, he also achieved the designation of NITA Master Advocate.

Matt has been on the other side.

Matt has over 16 years experience as an attorney. Initially, after graduating from law school, Matt worked in Cleveland, Ohio for a firm providing municipal defense for municipalities, police officers and public officials. He then worked for an insurance company as house counsel defending insured's in lawsuits filed by injured people. In 2000, Matt opened his own office and began representing injured people.

He's always fighting for you!

Matt served four years in the United States Marine Corps as an infantry man. Initially stationed at the Marine Barracks, Washington D.C. in a cermonial marching platoon, Matt participated in numerous parades, military ceremonies, and funerals at Arlington Cemetery. Matt served in the Far East in the post-Vietnam years with the 3rd Batallion, 4th Marines in Okinawa, Japan. Matt finished his enlistment as a Sergeant at Camp LeJeune, North Carolina. One of the highlights of Matt's Marine Corps experience was participating in the rescue of Vietnamese boat people in the South China Sea.

The bottom line is this...Matt Chapel fights AND Matt Chapel cares.
